I'm starting to get more and more interested in the other fluttery things in our garden just lately, although there aren't that many of them, we have had a couple of visits from the painted lady butterfly but by the time I've got the camera off the tripod they've moved on. We have a few of what I've always called cabbage whites and tons of moths at night. This one landed on our lounge wall last Saturday night and although I'm useless at identification I would be ever so grateful if anyone could identify this little creature. it was very tiny so the picture has been severely cropped, about 1.5 inches across and less than an inch long.

Hee hee, I can't believe you have just posted that! I have just finished preparing a photo of it for my next post. It is the Small Magpie. A very nice photo Jayne :)

Thanks for the ID folks, I thing my OH thinks I'm becoming somewhat obsessed with this wildlife stuff LOL - I'm doing my best with the moths & butterflies but they are much more difficult subjects than the birds and I was bad enough with them so I'm hoping you'll bear with me folks!!

Thanks Ken and Professor AB, I only wish a few of the yobs whose handiwork I see the results of during my walks with my beloved Dog around our beautiful local park and riverbank were as obsessed with nature and wildlife as they are with the destruction of it - Grrrrr!!!! Rant Over
