Now this is definitely where I need the experts - Am I right in thinking that this is a young Dunnock, he sat there for ages on the fence right by the patio window, didn't seem in the slightest afraid of anything!!!!!
Same here, Jayne. I've been looking at my dunnocks very carefully hoping to see a young one but mine all have unspeckled heads. Well done from me as well :)
Thanks folks, I must be getting slightly better because I really thought it was a young Dunnock. I'm OK with the obvious and when the youngsters are being fed by Mom & Dad but when they just sit there I start to doubt my first instinct. WOW just think I might even be on Springwatch this time next year LOL Jayne
Hello Everyone, time to update my profile the last one seems a little dated now. My Name is still Jayne and I started this blog to post pictures and narrative about the wildlife in and around our garden. Our Bichon Charley has recently taken up residence in a lovely place called "Heaven" where he so rightfully should be after giving us so much pleasure for nearly 12 years. His baby brother a "Cavachon" Bichon/ Cavalier Cross has now taken residence in our home, he is 8 weeks old and if his 1st week with us is anything to go by he has some major work to do to secure his place in his next home. He is adorable and delightful but very naughty, my blog therefore has been extended to show poor Charley just before he left us and now his brother Paddy who is most obviously with us LOL

Hi Jayne, it is a young Dunnock. Dunnocks were the first fledglings I saw this year.
