My Dear Uncle has just e mailed this shot of Lake Vrynwy. He took the shot this afternoon whilst finalising details of a charity walk we are doing for their late son's charity on June 6th. Andrew died from a Brain tumour three years ago and they set up a charity to help with Braun Tumour Research. The walk is around the lake and will take approx 4 hours to complete. The small white cars on the horizon of the picture are to show me the picnic area where I am to take my Dad whilst the walk is taking place. Dad being severely disabled would have to be pushed all the way around in his wheelchair and I thought I might need a wooden box myself if I attempted to do that. My Husband and daughter will be taking part though!! The shot was taken from the terrace of The Lake Vyrnwy Hotel where they were lucky enough to meet the crew of Springwatch this afternoon. All of the crew expressed how lucky they were to have landed a job in such a beautiful part of the world. My Aunt & Uncle live in a cottage in the hills overlooking Lake Bala. To stay there is just bliss!!!!

Now that view quite takes your breath away.

Enjoy your walk for such a worthy cause. You'll have some wonderful sights along the way I would think:)

Thank you folks, Andrew was a delightful chap who had a God given talent for photography although he never used a digital (hated them) and his pictures always keep his memory very close, awful illness!!
Lake Bala is about half an hours car ride away Sheila and if you take the hillside roads from Vyrnwy the journey is breath taking in more ways than one, there are sheer drops on one side but it's just wonderful. Andrew also kept a log of all the birds that visited their cottage garden (2 acres!!!!!) the list is endless!!

I somehow missed your previous post Jayne, I'm so sorry! I loved the Woodpecker photos, I do wish you'd send some my way :) The Goldies were lovely too, we have juveniles at the moment, so I suspect you will too.

Oh! Lake Vrynwy, what a gorgeous photo, some years ago we were going there to view a place called The Old Rectory which was for sale at a time when property was really cheap, but we were put off by lots of news reports of a fire-bomb campaign against English house buyers by Welsh Nationalists. We have always regretted not going!

I do hope the walk goes well for such a worthwhile cause. I am of course eagerly following Springwatch so will think of you and your family in that beautiful place each time I watch.
