Came home to find this beautiful almost pure white pigeon in our garden today, first time I've caught sight of it, it was happily eating away with the normal wood pigeons. Do you think it is an escapee from someones pigeon loft????
beautiful bird jayne and a fine job you've done of capturing it on camera, it's a bit hard to tell even when i enlarged the photo wether it has a ring on or not.
Thanks for your input folks, the rest of the woodies were all here this morning but Snow White was noticeable in absence so I'm guessing the visit was just a one off. How lucky to be here to witness and capture the shot though hey!! Jayne
What a lovely bird. Im surprised it did not hang around your garden for a good few days with all that good food up for grabs . Sure you wouldn't of minded !
Hello Everyone, time to update my profile the last one seems a little dated now. My Name is still Jayne and I started this blog to post pictures and narrative about the wildlife in and around our garden. Our Bichon Charley has recently taken up residence in a lovely place called "Heaven" where he so rightfully should be after giving us so much pleasure for nearly 12 years. His baby brother a "Cavachon" Bichon/ Cavalier Cross has now taken residence in our home, he is 8 weeks old and if his 1st week with us is anything to go by he has some major work to do to secure his place in his next home. He is adorable and delightful but very naughty, my blog therefore has been extended to show poor Charley just before he left us and now his brother Paddy who is most obviously with us LOL

lovely photo Jayne what a gorgeous bird.
If its eyes were pink I'd have said an albino. Lovely bird though.
My first thought was as you said possibly an escapee from a pigeon loft, but a beautiful bird whatever it is.
